During the Unieros "Living Green for a Cause" event, Unieros friends will collect non-perishable organic food items for an Burmese refugee family in need. Our donation will be first meals they receive in the U.S. Below is a brief history of the country provided by RefugeeOne organization.

Conflict: There has been a fifty-year on-going armed conflict between the government and ethnic-based groups seeking greater autonomy in the country. The Burmese government has frequently been criticized by the international community for human rights violations. Majority of Burmese refugees now in camps in Thailand fled between 1995 and 1997 following a series of military offensives by a government group against opposition movements.
