Brazilian Clarice Magalhães Concert

Clarice Magalhães is a Brazilian singer and percussionist from Rio de Janeiro. She has performed, toured and recorded with a variety of groups, including the critically acclaimed Choro na Feira, before releasing her first solo album in December 2009. She specializes in Samba and Choro, singing with a seductive charm and showing off her extraordinary skill at the tambourine-like Pandeiro. Join her for her U.S. debut and record release party with some of Chicago's best musicians including Luciano Antonio (guitar), Geraldo de Oliveira (percussion), Felipe Fraga (percussion), Steve Eisen (Saxophone/flute), Jack Zara (bass), and John Beard (cavaquinho).

Clarice will give a Pandeiro workshop as part of the Thursday Workshop Series.
